Choosing A Cremation Service

There is no right or wrong way to grieve or celebrate somebody’s life, just like there is no right cremation service, only one that suits you, your family and the wishes of your loved one.

At Direct Cremations, we make sure that every cremation is carried out with dignity and respect, no matter which type of service you select. If your loved one wishes are to be cremated, but you find that you do have a strict budget, an unattended direct cremation service is a simple affordable service which then can be followed by a memorial service at a later date. Funeral directors can assist you with planning a memorial service or of course family can arrange this themselves. Direct Cremation Services include: Bringing your loved one into our care from place of death, basic coffin, transport to the crematorium in our hearse, arranging all documentation, registering the death certificate with births, deaths and marriages and our 24 hour professional care. The cremations are held at either Springvale Botanical Cemetery or Bunurong Memorial park, or if you prefer, we can arrange for the cremation to take place at Altona, Fawkner or Lilydale Memorial Park at an additional cost. We also can arrange for you to see your loved one in a private viewing the day prior to cremation, we even offer to meet us within the gardens of the crematorium where you can have a moment at the back of the hearse to say farewell before the hearse drives to the crematorium. At Direct Cremations, other cremations services we offer are a Single Cremation Service or a Dual Cremation service. These both include the standard services, with the single service including transport of your loved one to the funeral service followed by a private cremation or a Duel service includes a service being held at a church, chapel or somewhere of your choosing followed by a committal in the chapel at the crematorium. Each service has a range of optional extras, so it is up to you to decide the best way to say goodbye to your loved one.

Coping With Grief

Contrary to the opinions that may possibly be around you, there is no right or wrong way to process grief. Grief is a natural human response and can come in many different forms and at different times. Time periods, intensity and even the moment that grief hits is all a personal experience. Many people experience it in a range of different ways, grief is something that people should not offer commentary on. There are some healthy ways thought to help deal with grief, such as acknowledging it, understanding that it is okay to feel pain regarding the loss and accepting the fact that grief may take you on an emotional rollercoaster that may change from day to day and even minute to minute.

If you are feeling lost in your grief, then it is okay to seek help from others, especially health professionals as they can help you navigate the feelings that you are going through. At Direct Cremations, we understand that this process is a difficult one to go through, which is why we are here to offer you the most help possible.
